Trattato di Pace con il Giappone firmata a San Francisco, 8 settembre 1951 Entrata in vigore iniziale. 28 aprile 1952 Nota: Né la Repubblica di Cina, né la Repubblica Popolare Cinese sono stati invitati alla Conferenza di pace di San Francisco, e nessuno dei due stati aderenti al trattato di San Francisco. La Repubblica di Cina ha concluso un trattato separato della Pace con il Giappone nel 1952. Il primo ministro Shigeru Yoshida del Giappone, circondato da alti membri della delegazione giapponese, firma il trattato di pace l'8 settembre 1951. trattato di pace con il Giappone W considerando che le potenze alleate e in Giappone vengono risolti che d'ora in poi i loro rapporti sono quelli di nazioni che, come eguali sovrani, cooperare in associazione amichevole per promuovere il loro benessere comune e per mantenere la pace e la sicurezza internazionale, e sono quindi desiderosi di concludere un trattato di pace, che si depositerà domande ancora in sospeso a seguito dell'esistenza di uno stato di guerra fra loro W considerando che il Giappone da parte sua, dichiara la sua intenzione di presentare domanda di adesione alle Nazioni Unite e in tutte le circostanze di conformarsi ai principi della Carta delle Nazioni Unite a lottare per realizzare gli obiettivi della Dichiarazione universale dei diritti umani per cercare di creare all'interno condizioni Giappone di stabilità e il benessere di cui agli articoli 55 e 56 della Carta delle Nazioni Unite e già avviato dal post-resa legislazione giapponese e in pubblico e il commercio privato e commercio sono conformi alle pratiche eque accettate a livello internazionale W considerando che le potenze alleate accogliere le intenzioni del Giappone di cui al precedente paragrafo i L a LLIED P Owers e J APAN hanno pertanto determinato a concludere il trattato attuale della Pace, e hanno di conseguenza nominato i sottoscritti plenipotenziari, che, dopo la presentazione dei loro pieni poteri, riconosciuti in buona e debita forma, hanno convenuto le seguenti disposizioni: (a) lo stato di guerra tra il Giappone e ciascuna delle potenze alleate termina a partire dalla data in cui il presente trattato entrerà in vigore tra il Giappone e l'alimentazione degli Alleati in questione, come previsto all'articolo 23. (b) le potenze alleate riconoscono la piena sovranità del popolo giapponese il Giappone e le sue acque territoriali. (A) il Giappone riconoscere l'indipendenza della Corea, rinuncia ogni diritto, titolo e pretesa di Corea, comprese le isole di Quelpart, Port Hamilton e Dagelet. (C) il Giappone rinuncia ogni diritto, titolo e rivendicare le isole Kurili, e di quella parte di Sakhalin e le isole adiacenti ad esso su cui il Giappone ha acquisito la sovranità come conseguenza del trattato di Portsmouth, del 5 settembre 1905. (d) il Giappone rinuncia ogni diritto, titolo e pretesa in connessione con la Società delle Nazioni mandato sistema, e accetta l'azione del Consiglio di sicurezza delle Nazioni Unite, del 2 aprile 1947, l'estensione del regime di amministrazione fiduciaria per le isole del Pacifico in precedenza sotto il mandato in Giappone. (E) il Giappone rinuncia a ogni pretesa di qualsiasi diritto o diritto o interesse in relazione a qualsiasi parte della zona antartica, se derivante dalle attività di cittadini giapponesi o altro. (F) il Giappone rinuncia ogni diritto, titolo e rivendicare le isole Spratly e alle isole Paracel. Giappone concorrere a qualsiasi proposta degli Stati Uniti alle Nazioni Unite di porre sotto il suo regime di amministrazione fiduciaria, con gli Stati Uniti come unica autorità amministratrice, Nansei Shoto sud di 29deg. di latitudine nord (comprese le Isole Ryukyu e le isole Daito), Nanpo Shoto sud di Sofu Gan (comprese le isole Bonin, Rosario Island e le isole Vulcano) e Parece Vela e Marcus Island. In attesa della realizzazione di una tale proposta e affermativa di essa l'azione, gli Stati Uniti avranno il diritto di esercitare tutti gli eventuali poteri di amministrazione, la legislazione e la giurisdizione sul territorio e gli abitanti di queste isole, comprese le loro acque territoriali. (A) Fatte salve le disposizioni del paragrafo (b) del presente articolo, la disponibilità dei beni del Giappone e dei suoi cittadini nei settori di cui all'articolo 2, e le loro richieste, tra cui debiti, contro le autorità attualmente la gestione di tali aree e i residenti (comprese le persone giuridiche) dello stesso, e la disposizione in Giappone di proprietà di tali autorità e dei residenti, e di crediti, compresi i debiti, di tali autorità e residenti contro il Giappone ed i suoi cittadini, sono oggetto di accordi speciali tra il Giappone e tali autorità. La proprietà di una delle potenze alleate o dei suoi cittadini nei settori di cui all'articolo 2, nella misura in cui ciò non sia già stato fatto, essere restituito dall'autorità amministratrice nella condizione in cui ora esiste. (L'cittadini termine ogni volta utilizzato nel presente trattato comprende le persone giuridiche.) (B) il Giappone riconosce la validità delle disposizioni a causa del Giappone e cittadini giapponesi da parte o in forza di direttive del governo militare degli Stati Uniti in una delle aree di cui al agli articoli 2 e 3. (c) Giapponese collegamento cavi sottomarini di proprietà in Giappone con il territorio rimosso dal controllo giapponese ai sensi del presente trattato sono equamente divisi, Giappone conservando il terminale giapponese e la metà annesso del cavo, e il territorio distaccato il resto del i cavi di collegamento e terminali. (A) il Giappone accetta gli obblighi di cui all'articolo 2 della Carta delle Nazioni Unite. e in particolare gli obblighi (i) per risolvere le sue controversie internazionali con mezzi pacifici, in maniera che la pace e la sicurezza internazionale, e la giustizia, non sono in pericolo (ii) di astenersi nelle sue relazioni internazionali dalla minaccia o dall'uso della forza contro il l'integrità territoriale o l'indipendenza politica di qualsiasi Stato o in qualunque altra maniera incompatibile con i fini delle Nazioni Unite (iii) per dare alle Nazioni Unite ogni assistenza in qualsiasi azione che ci vuole in conformità con la Carta e ad astenersi dal dare assistenza a qualsiasi Stato contro cui le Nazioni Unite potrebbe richiedere un'azione preventiva o coercitiva. (B) Le potenze alleate confermano che saranno guidate dai principi di cui all'articolo 2 della Carta delle Nazioni Unite nelle loro relazioni con il Giappone. (C) le potenze alleate, da parte loro riconoscono che il Giappone come una nazione sovrana possiede il diritto naturale di autotutela individuale o collettiva di cui all'articolo 51 della Carta delle Nazioni Unite e che il Giappone possa entrare volontariamente accordi di sicurezza collettiva. (A) Tutte le forze di occupazione del potenze alleate devono essere ritirate dal Giappone al più presto possibile dopo l'entrata in vigore del presente trattato, e in ogni caso non oltre 90 giorni successivi. Nessuna disposizione del presente disposizione, tuttavia, evitare lo stazionamento o il mantenimento di forze armate straniere in territorio giapponese sotto o in conseguenza di accordi bilaterali o multilaterali che sono stati o che potrebbero essere conclusi tra uno o più delle potenze alleate, da un lato, e Giappone dall'altra. Clausole politiche ed economiche (b) le notifiche effettuate ai sensi del paragrafo (a) del presente articolo possono concedere una deroga dal funzionamento o rilancio di un trattato o convenzione ogni territorio per le relazioni internazionali di cui il notificante potere è responsabile, fino a tre mesi dopo la data su cui l'avviso è dato al Giappone che tale eccezione non è più applicabile. (A) il Giappone riconoscerà tutta la forza di tutti i trattati ora o in futuro stipulati dalle potenze alleate per terminare lo stato di guerra iniziata il 1 ° settembre 1939, nonché degli eventuali altri accordi con le potenze alleate per o in connessione con il ripristino della pace. Giappone accetta anche le modalità previste per terminare l'ex Società delle Nazioni e la Corte permanente di giustizia internazionale. (B) il Giappone rinuncia tutti tali diritti e gli interessi in quanto può derivare da essere una potenza firmatari delle Convenzioni di St. Germain-en-Laye, del 10 settembre 1919 e l'accordo stretto di Montreux del 20 luglio 1936 e all'articolo 16, del trattato di pace con la Turchia firmato a Losanna il 24 luglio 1923. (c) il Giappone rinuncia tutti i diritti, titoli e interessi acquisiti sotto, e viene scaricata da tutti gli obblighi derivanti dal, l'accordo tra la Germania e le potenze creditrici di 20 Gennaio 1930 e dei suoi allegati, tra cui l'accordo fiduciario, del 17 maggio 1930, la convenzione del 20 gennaio 1930, concernente la Banca dei Regolamenti internazionali e lo statuto della Banca dei Regolamenti internazionali. Giappone notificherà al Ministero degli Affari Esteri a Parigi, entro sei mesi dalla prima entrata in vigore del presente trattato la sua rinuncia al diritto, titolo e gli interessi di cui al presente paragrafo. Giappone entrerà immediatamente negoziati con le potenze alleate in modo da desiderare per la conclusione di accordi bilaterali e multilaterali che prevedono la regolamentazione o la limitazione della pesca e la conservazione e lo sviluppo delle attività di pesca in alto mare. Giappone rinuncia tutti i diritti speciali e gli interessi in Cina, tra cui tutti i benefici e privilegi derivanti dalle disposizioni del protocollo finale firmato a Pechino il 7 settembre 1901, e tutti gli allegati, note e documenti ad esso complementare, e accetta l'abrogazione in relazione al Giappone di detto protocollo, allegati, note e documenti. Giappone accetta le sentenze del Tribunale Militare Internazionale per l'Estremo Oriente e di altri crimini di guerra alleati Corti sia all'interno che all'esterno del Giappone, ed effettuerà le condanne inflitte in tal modo su di cittadini giapponesi imprigionati in Giappone. Il potere di concedere la grazia, per ridurre le frasi e di parole rispetto alla non possono essere esercitati se non sulla decisione del governo o di governo che ha imposto la pena in ogni caso, e su consiglio del Giappone questi prigionieri. Nel caso di persone condannate dal Tribunale Militare Internazionale per l'Estremo Oriente, tale potere non può essere esercitato se non per la decisione della maggioranza dei governi rappresentati nel tribunale, e su raccomandazione del Giappone. (A) il Giappone si dichiara disposta tempestivamente ad avviare negoziati per la conclusione con ciascuna delle potenze alleate di trattati o accordi di collocare i loro commerciali, rapporti commerciali marittime e altri su una base stabile e amichevole. (B) In attesa della conclusione del trattato o accordo in questione, il Giappone, nel corso di un periodo di quattro anni dalla prima entrata in vigore del presente trattato (1) accordo a ciascuna delle potenze alleate, i suoi cittadini, i prodotti e le navi ( i) il trattamento più favorita nazione rispetto ai dazi doganali, tasse, restrizioni e altri regolamenti o in relazione con l'importazione e l'esportazione di merci (ii) trattamento nazionale, per quanto riguarda il trasporto, la navigazione e le merci importate, e per quanto riguarda le persone fisiche e giuridiche e dei loro interessi - come trattamento per includere tutte le questioni relative alla riscossione e la raccolta delle tasse, l'accesso ai tribunali, la realizzazione ed esecuzione dei contratti, diritti di proprietà (materiali e immateriali), partecipando a persone giuridiche costituite in conformità legge giapponese, e in generale la condotta di tutti i tipi di imprese e attività professionali (2) assicurare che gli acquisti esterni e le vendite di giapponesi imprese commerciali statali devono essere basate esclusivamente su considerazioni commerciali. (B) In attesa della conclusione di tale accordo o accordi, Giappone, nel corso di un periodo di quattro anni dalla prima entrata in vigore del presente trattato, estendere a tale trattamento di alimentazione non meno favorevole rispetto ai diritti di traffico aereo e dei privilegi di quelle esercitate da tali poteri alla data di tale entrata in vigore, e accorderà completa uguaglianza di opportunità in relazione al funzionamento e allo sviluppo dei servizi aerei. (C) In attesa della sua diventare una parte della Convenzione sull'aviazione civile internazionale in conformità con l'articolo 93, il Giappone dare attuazione alle disposizioni di tale Convenzione applicabili alla navigazione internazionale di aerei, e darà attuazione alle norme, pratiche e procedure adottate come allegati alla convenzione in conformità con i termini della convenzione. RECLAMI E PROPRIETA '(a) Si riconosce che il Giappone dovrebbe pagare risarcimenti alle Potenze Alleate per i danni e le sofferenze causate da essa durante la guerra. Tuttavia è anche riconosciuto che le risorse del Giappone non sono al momento sufficienti, se si tratta di mantenere un'economia vitale, per rendere completa riparazione per tutti i danni e le sofferenze e allo stesso tempo rispettare i suoi altri obblighi. 1. Giappone tempestivamente avviare negoziati con potenze alleate lo desidera, i cui territori presenti sono stati occupati da forze giapponesi e danneggiati dal Giappone, al fine di aiutare a compensare quei paesi per il costo della riparazione del danno fatto, mettendo a disposizione i servizi del popolo giapponese nella produzione, recupero e altri lavori per le potenze alleate in questione. (I) Fatte salve le disposizioni della lettera (ii), ciascuna delle potenze alleate ha il diritto di sequestrare, mantenere, liquidare o altrimenti disporre di tutti i beni, i diritti e gli interessi di (a) il Giappone e cittadini giapponesi, (b) le persone che agiscono per o per conto del Giappone o cittadini giapponesi, e (c) entità possedute o controllate dal Giappone o cittadini giapponesi, che sulla prima entrata in vigore del presente trattato erano soggetti alla sua giurisdizione. La proprietà, i diritti e gli interessi di cui al presente comma comprendono quelli ormai bloccato, acquisiti o in possesso o sotto il controllo delle autorità di proprietà nemica delle potenze alleate, che appartengono alla, o sono stati posseduti o amministrati per conto di una delle persone o entità di cui (a), (b) o (c) di cui sopra, al momento tali attività passò sotto il controllo di tali autorità. (I) di proprietà di persone fisiche giapponesi che durante la guerra risiedevano con il permesso del governo in questione nel territorio di una delle potenze alleate, diverso territorio occupato dal Giappone, tranne proprietà sottoposta a restrizioni durante la guerra e non esonerato da tale restrizioni alla data della prima entrata in vigore del presente trattato (ii) tutti i beni immobili, mobili e arredi di proprietà del governo del Giappone e utilizzati a fini diplomatici o consolari, e tutti i mobili e gli arredi personale e altro non proprietà privata di natura dell'investimento che era normalmente necessario per lo svolgimento delle funzioni diplomatiche e consolari, di proprietà di personale diplomatico e consolare giapponesi (iii) immobili appartenenti ad enti religiosi o istituzioni caritative private e utilizzati esclusivamente per scopi religiosi o caritativi (iv) immobili, diritti e gli interessi che si sono di sua competenza a seguito della ripresa delle relazioni commerciali e finanziarie successive al 2 settembre 1945, tra il paese in questione e in Giappone, a meno che tale sono il risultato di operazioni contrarie alle leggi del potere Allied interessati (v ) obblighi del Giappone o di cittadini giapponesi, alcun diritto, titolo o interesse in beni materiali situato in Giappone, gli interessi in imprese organizzate secondo le leggi del Giappone, o di qualsiasi prova di carta dello stesso, a condizione che questa eccezione si applica soltanto agli obblighi del Giappone e dei suoi cittadini espresso nella valuta giapponese. (III) di proprietà di cui al eccezioni (i) a (v) devono essere restituiti in precedenza soggetti a spese ragionevoli per la sua conservazione e l'amministrazione. Se tale immobile è stato liquidato il gettito viene restituito invece. (IV) il diritto di cogliere, mantenere, liquidare o altrimenti disporre di un bene come previsto alla lettera (I) deve essere esercitato in conformità con le leggi del potere alleato in questione, e il proprietario ha soltanto i diritti può essere dato lui da quelle leggi. (V) le potenze alleate d'accordo a che fare con marchi giapponesi e diritti di proprietà letteraria e artistica su una base più favorevole al Giappone come caso concreto in ogni paese permetterà. (B) Salvo quanto diversamente previsto nel presente trattato, le potenze alleate rinunciare ad ogni riparazioni richieste del potenze alleate, altre rivendicazioni delle Potenze Alleate ed i loro cittadini derivanti da eventuali azioni intraprese da parte del Giappone e dei suoi cittadini nel corso della procura della guerra, e le rivendicazioni delle Potenze alleate per i costi diretti militari di occupazione. (A) Su domanda presentata entro nove mesi dalla data di entrata in vigore del presente Trattato tra il Giappone e la potenza alleata in questione, il Giappone, entro sei mesi dalla data di tale applicazione, restituire la proprietà, materiali e immateriali, e tutti i diritti o interessi di qualsiasi genere in Giappone di ogni potere Allied ei suoi cittadini, che era in Giappone, in qualsiasi momento tra il 7 dicembre 1941 e il 2 settembre 1945, a meno che il proprietario ha liberamente disporre di esso senza costrizione o frode. Tale proprietà deve essere restituito libera di tutti i vincoli e gli oneri a cui possono essere stati soggetti a causa della guerra, e senza oneri per il suo ritorno. Nei casi in cui tali beni in Giappone il 7 dicembre 1941, e non possono essere rispediti o ha subito lesioni o danni a causa della guerra, la compensazione sarà effettuata secondo condizioni non meno favorevoli delle condizioni previste nel progetto delle potenze alleate risarcimento dei beni legge approvata dal Consiglio dei Ministri giapponese il 13 luglio 1951. (b) per quanto riguarda i diritti di proprietà industriale deteriorate durante la guerra, il Giappone continuerà ad accordare alle Potenze alleate ed i loro cittadini vantaggi non meno di quelli finora concessi dal Consiglio dei Ministri ordini No. 309 efficace 1 settembre 1949, n ° 12 efficace 28 Gennaio 1950, e n ° 9 efficacia 1 febbraio 1950, il tutto come ora modificato, a condizione che tali cittadini hanno presentato domanda di tali benefici entro i termini ivi previsti. (C) (i), il Giappone riconosce che i diritti di proprietà letteraria e artistica che esistevano in Giappone il 6 dicembre 1941, in relazione alle opere edite e inedite delle Potenze Alleate ed i loro cittadini hanno continuato in vigore dopo tale data, e riconosce quelli diritti che sono sorti, o ma per la guerra sarebbero sorti, in Giappone, da tale data, per il funzionamento di tutte le convenzioni e gli accordi a cui il Giappone è stata una parte a quella data, a prescindere dal fatto che tali convenzioni o accordi sono stati abrogati o sospesa sopra o dopo lo scoppio della guerra, dalla legislazione nazionale del Giappone o della Potenza alleata in questione. (Ii) senza la necessità di applicazione da parte del titolare del diritto e senza il pagamento di alcuna tassa o la conformità con qualsiasi altra formalità, il periodo dal 7 dicembre 1941 fino all'entrata in vigore del presente Trattato tra il Giappone e la potenza alleata in questione sono esclusi dalla gestione del normale termine di tali diritti e tale periodo, con un ulteriore periodo di sei mesi, sono esclusi dal tempo entro il quale un'opera letteraria deve essere tradotte in giapponese al fine di ottenere diritti di traduzione in Giappone. Come espressione della sua volontà di risarcire quei membri delle forze armate delle Potenze Alleate che hanno sofferto disagi indebiti, mentre i prigionieri di guerra del Giappone, il Giappone trasferirà le sue attività e quelle dei suoi cittadini nei paesi che sono stati neutrale durante la guerra, o che erano in guerra con una delle potenze alleate, o, a sua discrezione, l'equivalente di tali attività, al Comitato internazionale della Croce rossa, che deve liquidare tali attività e distribuire il fondo risultante di appropriarsi agenzie nazionali, a beneficio di ex prigionieri di guerra e le loro famiglie su tale base da esso stabilita per essere equo. Le categorie di attività di cui all'articolo 14 (a), 2 (II) (ii) a (v) del presente trattato sono esenti dal trasferimento, nonché le attività di persone fisiche giapponese non residenti del Giappone sulla prima entrata in vigore del trattato. E 'altrettanto comprensibile che la fornitura di trasferimento del presente articolo non ha alcuna applicazione ai 19.770 azioni della Banca dei Regolamenti Internazionali attualmente di proprietà di istituzioni finanziarie giapponesi. (A) Su richiesta di una delle potenze alleate, il governo giapponese deve riesaminare e revisionare in conformità con il diritto internazionale, qualsiasi decisione o ordine del premio tribunali giapponesi nei casi che riguardano i diritti di proprietà dei cittadini di detto Allied Potere e fornisce copie di tutti i documenti che compongono i record di questi casi, comprese le decisioni prese e gli ordini emessi. In ogni caso in cui tale revisione o la revisione dimostra che il restauro è dovuto, le disposizioni dell'articolo 15 si applicano alla proprietà in questione. (B) Il governo giapponese adotta le misure necessarie per consentire ai cittadini di una delle potenze alleate in qualsiasi momento entro un anno dalla data di entrata in vigore del presente Trattato tra il Giappone e la potenza alleata interessato di presentare alle autorità giapponesi appropriati per rivedere qualsiasi decisione emessa da un tribunale giapponese tra il 7 dicembre, 1941 e tale entrata in vigore, in qualsiasi procedimento in cui tale nazionale è in grado di effettuare un'adeguata presentazione del suo caso sia come attore o convenuto. Il governo giapponese membri prevedono che, quando un cittadino ha subito un pregiudizio a seguito di una sentenza del genere, egli deve essere ripristinato nella posizione in cui era prima che la decisione sia stata resa o deve essere concessa tale sollievo, come può essere giusto ed equo nel circostanze. San Francisco placed a call to his representatives right at the start of free agency, and the 28-year-old jumped at the opportunity. 8220If this team wants you, its a good thing,8221 he says. Once a highly regarded prospect with the Nationals, Marrero has scant MLB time, but did slash a productive .284.344.494 and hit a career-best 23 home runs in 544 Triple-A plate appearances last year with the Red Sox organization. By Jeff Todd February 24, 2017 at 9:45pm CDT While the Giants already had a host of internal options for their few MLB openings, the club brought in a wide range of alternatives to compete for jobs in camp. It8217s possible to imagine the team sticking with some old favorites, but the added contenders create some intrigue as the club looks to overtake a powerful Dodgers team in the NL West. Here are San Francisco8217s ongoing camp battles click here for previous entries in MLBTRs Camp Battles series. A pair of deadline swaps drastically altered the outlook for the Giants at the hot corner 8212 out went Matt Duffy . in came Nunez 8212 and the team has gone on to add a whole host of competitors for time there. Given the commitment to Nunez, and his lack of an obvious alternative position, it seems likely that he8217ll earn the lion8217s share of the time, but perhaps it8217s not etched in stone. Also at stake in this battle is a job as a utility infielder. Hwang represents the most intriguing alternative. He showed a fantastic blend of power and plate discipline last year, though it came in the hitter-friendly KBO and he had to settle for a minor league deal in his bid to make it in the majors. But if any of these players is a threat to Nunez as a semi-regular at third, it may be the unknown Hwang. Of course, Hill has shown life in the not-so-distant past, and could also be a real contender with a big spring. Beckham would have quite an uphill climb to lay such a claim himself, though the team thought enough of him in a brief cameo late last year to bring him back on a minors deal. Gillaspie was a surprising postseason hero, and may be a favorite for an Opening Day nod, though he8217d likely factor as a platoon candidate at the hot corner. Rollins may fight with Tomlinson and Calixte for a true utility spot. All are capable of playing shortstop, which doesn8217t hold for any of the other players 8212 excepting Nunez, who could conceivably add value as a heavily used multi-position player rather than parking on third base. Prediction: Nunez holds serve, with Gillaspie seeing time against righties. But I8217ll guess Hwang stakes out a roster spot, too, and plays third on occasions when Nunez spells left-handed-hitting middle infielders Brandon Crawford and Joe Panik . The Giants have made clear they8217d like someone to take the job as a semi-regular in left, which makes this a true battle for an important role 8212 albeit one that could change as the season goes on. Indications are that the out-of-options Parker will battle with Williamson for the job. Both have shown signs of promise in the upper minors and in their brief time in the bigs, though neither has yet been given a full opportunity to sink or swim at the game8217s highest level. While a platoon makes sense at first glance, it8217s trickier in practice. Indeed, GM Bobby Evans has strongly suggested that he doesn8217t really love the idea of both Parker and Williamson being on the same roster. The former hasn8217t shown evidence that he can succeed against lefties, making him a prime candidate to be spelled by a lefty bench bat. But the latter is also better historically against right-handed pitching, meaning he8217s not an optimal candidate to do so. Given the array of veterans assembled here, it seems that San Francisco is giving thought to a few scenarios. If Parker can win the job, as Evans says is his hope, then the club could option Williamson and keep a lefty masher on hand to share time in left and perhaps also spell Brandon Belt at first. Morse and Ruggiano will try to show what they have left this spring, while Blanks will look to get his career on track after a series of injuries, but Marrero could also be a real consideration given that the team targeted him early in the offseason. Any of those players could also conceivably coexist with Williamson, though that would leave just one left-handed-hitting outfielder in Denard Span . Hernandez, meanwhile, occupies a somewhat different place in the picture. Despite a lack of significant MLB time, he has shown a high-OBP approach in the upper minors. Hernandez could ease the burden on Span in center he8217s also out of options. Prediction: This is an exceedingly difficult situation to prognosticate, but sometimes you have to go with your gut. I8217ll guess that the Giants preserve their control rights and flexibility by handing near-regular duties to Parker, with Williamson optioned back to Triple-A to open the year. Hernandez will be the fourth outfielder, seeing most of his time in center, while one of the four righty bench bat candidates will take a job as well. My guess is Ruggiano, who has actually been rather productive in recent years when healthy and given a MLB opportunity. ROTATION (ONE SPOT) Matt Cain Age: 32 Throws: R Contract Status: 1 year, 20MM (club option for 2018 at 21MM, with 7.5MM buyout vests with 200 IP if Cain doesn8217t end year on DL for elbowshoulder injury) Options remaining: Can8217t be optioned without consent This certainly appears to be Cain8217s job to lose barring injury, it8217s difficult to imagine he won8217t get another shot at rediscovering his form. Given his salary and history with the organization, he8217ll have every chance of proving that he8217s back to health 8212 and that his last two seasons (combined 5.70 ERA over 150 frames) aren8217t a reflection of his true talent going forward. While there8217s limited opportunity for other hurlers to snatch the job based solely on their performances in camp, there are contenders. Suarez is perhaps a swingman option after giving the Giants 84 serviceable frames in 2016. Blach had a nice debut last year, though it was brief and he doesn8217t carry overwhelming minor-league numbers. Much the same holds true of Stratton. Meanwhile, Blackburn has shown signs of greater upside, though he managed only a 4.36 ERA with 6.7 K9 and 2.3 BB9 in his repeat of Triple-A last year. Looking somewhat further down the line, Tyler Beede headlines the team8217s prospect pool in the rotation department, and he could soon be ready after strong year at Double-A in 2016. Prediction: Cain gets the job out of camp, but could be pressured relatively early in the season. The wild card here is the health of lefty Will Smith . who has been slowed early. Any setback could not only open up another job (at least temporarily), but lock up Okert8217s already strong hold on an Opening Day roster spot. While he only threw 14 MLB frames in his debut last year, Okert recorded a strikeout per inning and also racked up sixty punchouts to go with just 11 walks in his 47 13 Triple-A frames. Osich was a similar story entering camp last year, but struggled badly in his sophomore campaign (4.71 ERA, 6.2 K9, 4.7 BB9 in 36 13 innings) and seems destined for a reboot. The other lefty, Reynolds, has an outside shot at factoring in despite his lack of recent contributions in the majors, though perhaps that8217s mostly plausible in the event that Smith is shelved. On the righty side of the equation, Gearrin and Kontos seem to have the inside track. Gearrin bounced back from two injury-limited seasons to post a 4.28 ERA, though it came along with a solid 8.4 K9 and 2.6 BB9. Kontos, meanwhile, has produced outstanding results in recent years (2.49 ERA in 159 innings) while he has averaged only 6.0 K9 against 2.4 BB9, he has managed to suppress the runs by generating lots of weak contact (.260 lifetime BABIP). Those pitchers could be challenged, though, and it8217s worth bearing in mind their arb deals aren8217t guaranteed (so far as has been reported, at least). Hernandez is fresh off of an uneven year in which he landed with a 3.84 ERA over 72 23 innings while he coughed up four free passes per nine, he also racked up 9.9 K9 and showed he was healthy. Morris and Ramirez have more to prove, given their health situations, but have big arms and have had success in the majors in the past. The above-noted Suarez (if not one of the optionable rotation candidates) could also factor here if the Giants elect to keep a long man 8212 and especially if they choose to forego an extra position player on the bench. Dan Slania is another name to consider, perhaps he showed well in the upper minors last year and could surprise in camp. Prediction: I8217ll go with a somewhat conventional outlook here, predicting that Gearrin and Kontos keep their jobs and are joined by Okert. Just to mix things up, though, I8217ll also guess that Smith is unable to start the year in the majors, opening the door to the team preventing Hernandez from opting out by placing him on the active roster.
